Can you get more ticks if you're on your period?

i just went on a camping trip with my friends in the woods and when we got home one of my friend checked herself for ticks and found fifteen ticks! i checked myself and got zero. my friend was on her period and i wasn't. is it possible that ticks are more attracted to people who smell like menstrual blood or something?

Maybe so...but its also more likely to get mauled by a bear on your period as well! I will never camp on the rag again!

OMG!  LMAO!  NO NO NO!!!  She probably ran into a nest or something.  I live in a very rural area of NC.  I have 3 kids that play outside in the woods on a regular basis.  I have had days when one was covered in ticks with not a one on the other 2.  It just happens sometimes.

but it could depend if you were wearing bug spray and she wasnt
