Can you get permanent creases out of a knit collar?

I have several knit shirts which have gotten creases in the collars which make them stand up or out and ruins the shirt. Is there a way to flatten the collar and get the creases out once they are there? Steam, iron, stretch?

Use Downy Wrinkle Releaser and iron it.

Perhaps you could try both steaming and ironing.  But you would most likely have to do it vigorously and quite a few times to get permanent creases.
