Can you get pregnant if your on the pill, but have done drugs / alcohol before unprotected s*x?

Okay, so i'm on the pill. Have been for 3 weeks. But the 2 times me and my boyfriend had unprotected s*x, i either drunk alcohol or smoked weed that day. Could that effect the pill working properly?

Smoking marijuana or drinking alcohol would not change the effectiveness of birth control, however, if you've only been on the pill for 3 weeks it might not be working yet. It takes a full month for the pill to be effective, so you are always supposed to use a second form of protection for that first month.

that doesnt matter but the pill doesnt always work...my friend just got prego and was on the pill
