Ok so I started the depo shot last year in December and have gotten it every 3 months since then. Recently though I have been getting sick in the mornings and it stays with me throughout the day. I really doubt I'm pregnant...Well I took a digital pregnancy test last night and it just blinked with the hour glass forever than it just went blank and didn't say anything...So what should I do? I want to go to a doctor but im afraid to. My friend right now is pregnant. She wasn't on the shot though...but I want to come off of the shot because I've gained a lot of weight and I can't stand that. Am I pregnant?

  1. My goddaughter was a depo baby. Her mom was on depo every 3 months BUT she had gotten sick and had been on antibiotics, which makes most forms of b/c useless. If you are taking antibiotics make sure you use an additional form of contraceptive.

  2. I used depo for years & found it really good....I doubt you would be pregnant as even when you do come off it, it can sometimes take up to two years to fall pregnant....You may want to look at the implant as an option....Before falling pregnant myself, I was using the Nuvaring which I found fantastic....the best thing being that there is a lot less hormones so there is little or no weight gain...

  3. No...you are not pregnant...I was on depo for 4 years faithfully, and had the same things going on with me, but i knew i wasn't pregnant...It actually took me a whole year and some to get pregnant because it was still in my system, and even then, i miscarried that one,

  4. Yes you can get pregnant on the shot, expecially if you wait a little longer than three months to get the next one. That's what happen to my friend, but she'd only been on it for one shot so it might be different if you've been on it longer.

  5. yes you can!

  6. I have read that when  you go in to get the shot that you need to wait 24 hours before having intercourse again because it takes that long to take affect. So, yes, you can. And its 97% effective so there is still that 3% chance you will get pregnant. Highly unlikely but still very possible. But thats with every form of birth control except abstenance. Try to take another test again. The one you had must have been faulty. If you get a positive then, then make a doctors appointment.
