Can you get rid of gingivitis?

  1. Gingivitis is a completely reversible condition.  It can happen by good oral hygiene.  Make sure you are brushing at least 2X per day and flossing once a day.  A lot of times a good mouth wash will help people as well.  Periodontitis is a non reversible condition, so make sure you keep up good oral hygiene so it doesn't result in further gum disease.  


  2. yes you can. if the gingivitis isnt very extreme it can be taken care of by brushing/flossing and taking very good care of your teeth, if its developed into decay or calculus then the dentist needs to drill out the infected part and build it back up with composite and it will look like your normal tooth once again.
