Can you get rid of scratches on your watch?

I have a normal electronic watch and it got a scratch on the plastic, where the time and date are. Is there a way I could get rid of that scratch?

There are lots of products that say they will remove scratches.  None of them work.  I've tried many.   Some people turn the face of the watch to the inside of their wrist to see if that will slow down the number of scratches.  It doesn't do much good.   I wish there were something wonderful that works; we would all buy it.  THink of all the cellphone "faces" that get scratched- the phone is working perfectly but you have to get a new one because you can't read the screen due to the scratches.

If it's glass, a jeweler can polish out scratches.
