  1. I imagine it is possible.  I've heard it's highly unlikely for shingles to return however it is possble.  It might be more likely to occur on the other side second time around..

  2. yes you can, and although people usualy get it once everyone is different and some get it twice, my poor sister did and she was a kid.

  3. If I remember right, I think you can only get shingles once.

  4. Are you talking about shingles starting on one side and then in the same time period progressing to the other?  No - it runs along nerve endings and those do not cross the midline

Or are you talking about two seperate occurances of shingles - in that case yes.  And you can get shingles more than once.

the virus lives on the root of nerves - never goes away but your immune system controls it.  If you are stressed or your immune system is busy (with anything from a cold to a chronic illness), then it can flare up.

  5. Yes, you can.  Shingles often times never completely go away.  It's a virus very similar to the chickenpox and instead of affecting the epidermis, it affects nerve endings.  So when it flares up, it can be anywhere you have nerve endings.  Get yourself to a doc asap because this nerve ending damage can be permanent.
