  1. They might taste a bit stale, but I doubt they would actually make you ill.

  2. They will be fine.  There is nothing potentially hazardous in potato chips that will make you sick.  In other words, they don't "spoil".  They may taste just fine, or might be stale.  Try one and see-if its good, enjoy 'em!

  3. they probably would just taste like yuck. they are pretty dry so the chance that something can live in that water activity level is low.

  4. You could, but probably not. At work we get free expired chips every so often when the snack man comes to refill the machine and take out the old stuff. If it expired a really long time ago it might taste weird, and a really really long time might make you sick. But even a month probably won't make you sick.

  5. if they expire not too long ago like a day or a week it should be ok.but if it is like a year or so after the expiration date don't eat it. thing dont expire exactly on that date so if its only a week or two it shouldn't hurt you.

  6. Yes you can, never eat anything past it expiration date.

  7. NO,  the date is a consumer phobia thing.

If the bag was sealed and there are no bugs, eat em!

  8. i highly doubt it... just chips, not even open... probably not.

  9. Never eat anything that is past its expiration date. Nothing including chips are 100% sterile when packaged. Over time microorganisms grow, this is why we have expiration dates.

BTW: there are some potentially deadly molds and bacteria that enjoy eating potatoes too.

  10. no i doubt it

  11. yes very sick in your pants

  12. The chips aren't expired. The date on the bag is a 'freshness' date.

Why would you want to eat an old bag of chips anyway?

  13. Probably not going to get sick - how expired are they?

The "sell by" dates on packaged goods aren't really legally binding or defined by any authority other than the manufacturer. The "sell by" date on things like chips, crackers and cookies only indicates when the manufacturer feels that the product stops being at it's highest quality.

So your chips have slowly descended into a stale, yucky state since the day it passed the sell by date. Most of the time you still have a good few weeks before you can even tell flavor-wise. Since it's a processed food product, it could probably survive on the shelf for much longer than the sell-by date indicates but since chips have little value to us except that they taste good, it might be best to at least eat them when they've still got that going for them.

  14. just dont try it, dont be cheap go buy another bag
