Can you get subtitle's with a direct tv box?

Does anyone know if you can make it so there's word's on the bottom of the screen with a diriect tv box? So you can read what there saying instead of listining? If you can how do I do it?

  1. The output of the direct TV box includes closed captioning information. This is passed on to the TV set as part of the program.  To turn it ON, you use the remote control for your TV set and activate closed captioning.  Normally as part of the setup accessed by pressing menu on the remote.

    If given the option choose CC1. Unless your TV is more than 7 years old or smaller than 13" and it was sold or manufactured in the U.S. then by law it must be able to display closed captioning.

      


  2. there are two ways to do it, it depends what box you have.

    HD box you press the Yellow  in your remote and select Closed captioning and it should enable them.

    on old directv box click menu > setup > system setup > Display > Captioning >  ON

    if none of this work call directv 800-directv
