I'm 14 , and am travelling to manchester alone, to visit a family member. My mam suggested the train from central station, but it's quite expensive , and i wouldn't really like to get on it by myself. Any buses ?

  1. No you have to walk all the way there

  2. Yes you can, National Express run a direct sevice several times a day, usually with stops at Leeds and Liverpool, and providing that you are 14+, you can travel without an adult.

  3. National Express coaches run a bus service from Newcastle to Manchester Chorlton street bus station.

  4. The train may not be as expensive as you think - it's as little as £10 for a single if you book in advance, and at 14 you're eligible for a child ticket, which is half the cost of an adult ticket.
