  1. Yes.

    Travelling East.

The famous Kangaroo  air route travels East from London over Asia and down to Australia via Bangkok and Singapore.   Flights also cross the Indian ocean via Johannesburg, Harare and Mauritius.

    Travelling West.

Flights to Australia go west from London via Buenos Aires,  Los Angeles, San Francisco and Vancouver going direct across the pacific or through Hawaii, Far East or New Zealand.

The main Air hubs for arriving in Australia from the East are Cairns, Brisbane and Sydney.   Perth is the main Hub for arrivals coming from the West.

  2. You can get ANYWHERE by travelling mostly east or west (might need some north and south components too).

If you're on the US west coast, it makes more sense to fly across the Pacific (west), but you could also head east, through New York, London, maybe South Africa, and on to Oz.  That's the round about route, but it still gets you there.

  3. NO WAY ARE YOU CRAZY!!?? the world is flat and if you go to far one way you will fall off into nothing for eternity!

  4. Yes
