  1. What planet are you on?  Washers wash. They do not dry. Dryers dry. And how come someone says they frequently break down.  They last for 20 years or more in the states.  Washer/dryer combinations are still two machines.  Who manufactures such shoddy machines where you live?

  2. you can get an all in one washer-dryer.

a normal washing machine will never get your clothes dry completely but a washer-dryer will

when i lived in a flat i dried my clothes on either the radiators or an up-right maiden.

  3. i used to hand wash everything in the bathtub and then hang it up on hangers to dry. even the cloth diapers. wow, that was 23 years ago.

  4. Combo's are for sale for many years already.

  5. I live in the United States and they do make washing machines that will first wash, rinse and spin your clothes and then they will switch over and dry your clothes.  I think one company that makes this is LG.  You can do a search and see for yourself.  Although, I don't actually own one, so I am not sure how well they work.

  6. you can  wash  them separately

  7. There are washer/dryer combos with it being all in one machine but they are very expensive.  When I lived in an apartment house I had a hanging rack that hung over the bathtub, it held more than a load of clothes.

  8. We have a modern washing machine that does a 1200rpm spin, this gets stuff pretty well dried out, we then hang them on a clothes maiden and they're dry within 24 hours. You can fit a surprising amount of clothes on them.

  9. I rented a place which already had a combination washer/dryer installed. It had the usual settings that individual washers and dryers have. The variable spin speeds were useful. It could be set to wash cycle and then automatically dry afterwards. You could also do just certain cycles, or combinations of cycles, only.

The only drawback I found was the amount of items it would dry at one time. It could wash a large load at one time but not dry the same amount at one time because the dryer part needs more room for the items to move around for the air to flow.

If I only have a washer than I use a clothes airer to dry stuff. Due to money constraints I've had to wash stuff in the sink or the bath before now! Then it's difficult to get stuff dry, especially in winter.

  10. You can buy washer/dryers and they cost around £600. Most people I know that have had one complain that the dryer frequently fails and the cost of repair is too high to bother with.

  11. there are washing and drying machines on the market to buy this just means that its two machines in one.

Or you can buy a condenser dryer.
