i was watching some animal crossing thing on youtube, and it looked like someone had their own car, is it possible to own your own can on animal crossing wild world DS?

Unfortunately, no. You may have seen Gracie (the fashionista) in her car though. This is a special character :)

In my opinion, Animal Crossing: Wild World just wouldn't be fun with transport, like cars. Stick with walking and running :)

It's impossible to get your own car on the Nintendo DS version, you can only walk and run. Maybe you were watching the part when you get your new character, all new characters come out of a taxi cab.
