Is life in Whitehorse similar to a town its size in Alaska? Are the Yukon winters really that bad? (a few times this winter I checked and it was warmer in Whitehorse than in Wisconsin) Are there a lot of nice restaurants? Is game meat common all year around? Are Yukon folk cheerful like Alaskans? Are there jobs in the Yukon? How much is a fairly small apartment in Whitehorse per month (USD if possible)?

its not a major city or tourist attraction.Though it has alot of history .

But maybe this site might help you

Temperatures in Yukon are usually more extreme than those experienced in the southern provinces of Canada.

  2. To add a bit to the first answer:  I found Yukoners to be very friendly people in the short time I was up there last year.  I thought Whitehorse was a wonderful city, and I wouldn't mind living there myself.  Your best bet for rentals in Whitehorse is probably the local newspaper.
