I have a 22 month old daughter and I just found out that my husband mom had been giving her packaged soup at the age of six month. I am worried because she has always had a weight problem she is at 22lbs and goes as low as 19lbs and does not like certain food. I did not know what to tell the doctor because I just found out.

  1. I'm sure that's not whats causing her to have a weight problem but i definitely wouldn't give my son any..

  2. Something that happened more than a year isn't going to cause a problem today - but I would make sure that your mother in law doesn't feed her any more of the stuff. It isn't good for young digestive systems. Have a talk with your doctor, ask him why her weight is so low and what you can do about it.

  3. I would say no package stuff is very full of salt and all kind or preservatives. Not good.

  4. It probably wasn't a great idea considering how much sodium is in the soup.  Sounds like another clueless grandmother spoiling her grand child.  I suggest you both talking to her and telling her that you are trying to get her on a diet to boost her weight, and you would appriciate it if the mother follows your instructions.  If she can't follow the instructions, then visits with the grandmother should be no more than a few hours at a time.
