    Some metaphors about the weather:

    - we decided to plow through the bookkeeping (difficult tasks are tough soil so it must be worked)

    - we'll see if any new job listings come up (oppitunities are sprouts)

    - his roots ran deep in the region (a family tree is physical, and takes up more space as it grows older)

    - after the phone call, a smile could be seen sprouting from the edges of his lips (our face expressors how alive our soul is)
