  1. i would buy the horse glucosamine 5000

  2. I'm not sure to be honest but I do know a brilliant joint supplement for horses called Cortaflex, you can buy it in some saddlers.  They do a human version and a horse version and it's seriously good stuff, my mum got some for her thoroughbred and reckoned it was great.

  3. I give my horse Next Level joint fluid, and I have also used Fluid Flex. Both work really well.

  4. Because of the dosage differences between a human and a horse, it'll work out cheaper to buy a product specifically for horses.

The product I use is Equimins Flexijoint, it contains all three joint supplements (which works better than just using one, kinda like 1+1+1=5!) Chondroitin Sulphate, Glucasamine and MSM. (I use the flexijoint liquid, which also has devils claw in it, for my old pony)

  5. Absolutely, that is what is keeping my 20 plus gelding working as if he were 10...that and and a combination of of other natural additives in his feed, makes him fell and act like a 10 yr old.

  6. yes but it will cost a lot more than buying one specially for horses due to the amount of glucosamine required.

  7. I feed glucosamine as instructed by my vet because my horse has arthritis. I use the same one as midnight_ashes (Equine America) as it is the best value one I have found.

A horse ration of glusamine will be a stronger amount than what a human would receive.....the link provides an example of what's out there for horses.

  9. Yes, but there's a huge market of joint supplements just for horses, and you'll find better prices looking there.

  10. I feed a supplement by Equine America called "1000mg Glucosamine and MSM" - it's fab!!

  11. you can but you would have have to convert the weight so that it has an effect, but you should ask your vet for more advice. There are alot of glucosamine based products out there for horses aswel

  12. We feed our horses glucosamine in conjunction with MSM . Brilliant stuff . I bought it online - (TradeMe) from a person who sells many supplements etc . We also feed the same stuff to our old border collie and she is thriving . Very impressed with it :)

  13. Yes - glucosamine is a very common supplement fed to horses: supaflex, cortaflex and a host of other equine joint supplements contain glucosamine. I would recommend buying a supplement for horses so that you give the correct dosage, but otherwise it's just the same

  14. you can buy some specifically for horses, like cortaflex or superflex.

I think it is alright to feed the human one to horses though, as i knew someone who did, and her horse was perfectly fine! And i give it to my dog too (recommended by vets) and he's fine. So i don't think it should have any bad side-effects.

  15. I expect it is the same but you can buy glucosamine specifically for horses that you put in their food. I guess the human ones wouldn't be strong enough - you'd have to feed them the whole bottle!

  16. check with your vets just to be safe and sure
