Sing the Ant's go Marching song and afterwards make Ants on a log using celery peanut butter and raisins. Just make sure there are no children with peanut allergy's. It's not a book but hey I tried;)

Okay, I have something kind of cool, but the ingredients are stuff that kids wouldn't like, but can easily be replaced with other stuff. It's a cheese and pretzel porcupine. Like not using the chives and stuff. And instead of cream cheese, maybe mozerella?

there is a salad that is a bunny that would work too.  

you start with either a scoop of cottage cheese or a half of a peach.  and then use either pretzel sticks (short ones) or carrot sticks as his wiskers, use another vegetable for his ears and add raisins for his eyes and something smaller for is tounge or mouth sorry I dont remember all the details but you can find it in almost every childrens cookbook.

you can also make "ant on a log" and use the song "the ants go marching" as your story.

Buy an easy bake oven. Children will be able to do it and its not hard. If the get bored one day just say, " Hey let's make some pretzels" and then they will be occupied. Also, it is a good way for kids t learn directions and how to measure. If you get paid low salery then this is only like 15 or 20 dollars   ( you can buy it at Toys R Us)
