Can you give me a grocery list for under $50 that will give me five days worth of meals?

    it depends on your likes ... my husband lived off ramen and canned soup his first year in the military b/c he was a poor single guy...

    Chicken curry (get a value bag of chicken thighs- really cheap)

  5. I have been there, done that.

    First make out a menu.

    Monday - Meatloaf, mashed potatoes, green beans, gravy.

    tuesday - Chicken, baked,rice-a-roni, and broccoli

    Wednesday - hamburgers, french fries,

    Thursday - Goulash ( 1 pound ground beef, 1 pound elbow macaroni, 1 can hunts spaghetti sauce, 4 slices american cheese.)  serve with garlic bread (bread toasted topped with 1/2 stick butter and 1 teaspoon garlic powder)

    Friday - Tuna Noodle top of the stove casserole.  2 can tuna, 1 box macaroni and cheese prepared per directions, 1 can drained peas.

    Freeze any left over meat loaf for the following Monday.  Freeze any left over goulash for the following Thursday.

    Saturday - 1 box macaroni and cheese, 1/2 package smoked sausage cut in 1 inch pieces, 1 cup broccoli.   lightly cook sausage, and add to prepared mac and cheese as well as the broccoli, bake for about 30 minutes.

    Sunday -  Get some beef or pork chunks and make a stew in your crock pot... 2 potatoes per person 1 cup carrots, 1/2 cup clerey, 1 onion cut in 8ths, and your pack of meat.

    If you go to the grocery early in the morning (not Wal-mart) usually winn-dixie or what ever you have, around 8 am, check for mark down meats from the day before.  

    buy the 33 - 50 cent boxes of mac and cheese, NOT kraft, it is more expensive.  

    if you get frozen veggies, measure 1/2 cup per person when preparing to serve.   a normal bag, you should get 3 days servings out of.

    get a can of condensed milk for mac and cheese and mashed potatoes.  makes them creamer.  

    Get the rolls of ground beef.  they are cheaper.  You can change the menus depending on what meats you find marked down...

    also, check out this website.  Angelfoodministeries.org   50$ gets a lot, but you have to pre order and pick up later like 3 weeks later.

    find a bread store (day old) to get your bread, and snacks at.

    Also, Eggs and fried potatoes are a pretty cheap meal... with toast, or biscuits.

    get the 69 cent packs of meats (buddig) to make chipped beef gravy out of, or add to scrambled eggs.

    Here is something you can do for breakfast that will last a  few days.

    6 eggs, beaten, 1/2 cup milk, 4 pcs cheese diced up. 2 packs buddig ham, or 1/2 pound bacon cooked and crumbled. add to eggs.  6 pcs bread cut diagonally in half..

    Place bread in 9x13 pan pour egg mixture over bread.  let set over night, bake at 350 for about 30 minutes.  

    also buy the store brand of anything you get...   If you go to walmart, don't buy the store brand margarine.  it is more expensive than Blue bonnet...
