  1. I think many homeless people are always fustrated.  Homeless people are always turned down for jobs that they are capible of doing.  I've never spoken to a homless person, but I could imagine how annoying to could be to be a homeless person.  Some employers love to turn down people for jobs, although that person is capible of doing the job the right way.

  2. They would all talk differently depending on where they came from what their education was and how  intelligent they were. They say "Big Issue" a lot because that's what they sell.

  3. u muppet

  4. Yeah. He talks just like anyone else I've met. Sometimes he gets hyper enough to talk like a rich aristocrat. He has a good sense of humor, gives respect to his elders, and doesn't mouth off to people who insult others out of boredom.

Oh, and I forgot to mention: he's my best friend and a good bassist. I guess he's sort of homeless due to the fact that my house is his second home, next in line to the street.

If nobody has taken the hint yet, homeless people are just like people lucky enough to have homes, with the same language and culture as the luckier ones. Their speech is human. Their language is human. What else can I say?

  5. They talk just like everyone else.

Due to the fact that many people are homeless due to mental disorders that prevent them from working some of them will talk about things that don't make sense or forget what they are telling you in the middle of a story.

  6. They talk like everyone else.

  7. They are homeless not stupid, some have graduated from a university and have degrees

I have talked to many and to my knowledge they do not have a "lingo"

  8. A homeless person is merely a person without a home.  It's quite sad that someone would even have to ask this question.  They are people, they talk like them, they act like them.  They deserve to be treated with respect, and quite honestly, I find this question offensive towards them.

  9. idk, but i dont think of them any differently than we may. unless they threaten and stuff(which some homeless people do). i dont understand why people treat them any differently. why do we need a special name for them?

  10. Well first you have to bust out all your teeth. Then you have to get sunstroke and spend a few decades drunk and on drugs. After that it helps if you are a little crazy and talk to your self or to people that aren't there. They do have a slang but it is unintelligible to anyone that is not as messed up as they are. There are lots of them here in Reno-a whole tent city of them near downtown. They come in on the train or walk in on the tracks. The only time I talk to them is to tell them NO they can't have a cigarette and NO I don't have any "spare" change. The casino security guards talk to them more than anyone else. They are always throwing them out of the casinos. They come in looking for change on the floor and sift all the ashtrays looking for smokable butts-even with lipstick on them.We have recently gotten away from coin slots and have tickets instead so there is less change around.Mostly they hang out in the public parks downtown and scare the kids.As far as how they talk goes-nobody really wants to talk to them. My former neighbors used to and they always managed to bring one home with them. I got sick of that and called the cops on them. I caught on of their "guests" defecating behind my shed and the whole place smelled like urine. They had a derelict car in the driveway they let the bums sleep in.The guy that owned the car got arrested. After a while I got with the landlord and shoved the car out into the street so it could get towed off.Problem solved!I came outside once and there was a "family" camped in my driveway.I told them to get lost. They argued that it was public property and they weren't going anywhere. I informed them that it was indeed my driveway and I was going to turn the hose on them in 30 seconds if they did not scram out of there. After cussing me out for a while I got the hose as promised and they took off.So in my limited experience in "talking" to them they are rude and foulmouthed and obnoxious.

  11. Other than some words that have been established from their time living on the streets, I wouldn't see why losing a home would have any effect on the way they already spoke. There isn't a universal established dialect that they have. They'll speak like they've always spoken.

If you're considering approaching one to offer aid/advice, just show some respect and compassion. They're generally shunned by society, if they deserved it or not, and appreciate any help they can find. I doubt they would be too offended if your language pattern wasn't quite like theirs, unless you tried to see if you could mimic one, which can irritate anyone regardless of who they are.

  12. Oh dear....like anyone else.

Some more proper than others depending on where they grew up.

  13. Like you and I...and yes, i've talked to them...why would you assume they are any different from you and I?

  14. I've spoken to lots of them. Most of them talk pretty much like anyone who isn't homeless, though the undeniable prevalance of mental impairment among the homeless population would likely decrease the level of intelligence and communicative dexterity among the homeless population as a whole.

  15. I was homeless last year and I daily talked to homeless people and they all talked the same as you or I would.. Of course, they have slang..If they were black, they use black people "talk" but as far as being different from you and me..they are not

  16. well they dont really have there own lingo but they might have slang words for certain things they experience on the street....i would say a few of them would just talk drunk....a few like war vets idk if thats sterotypical but its just what I have seen from my travels
