  1. My theory is that they are using to issue secret encoded commands to the robots that are going to take over... but don't tell them I told you because we could be in a lot of trouble for talking about this over an unsecured channel.

  2. Well, radio is based off the wireless telegraph invented by Gugliemo Marconi which he successful sent the first morris code wirelessly through radio wave.  Then Lee DE Forest brought about the audion tube which  made the amplification of radio signals possible and which in turn allowed portable transmitters and recievers possible. And throughout the years in 1933 Edwin Armstrong discovered Frequency Modulation (FM) which allowed for a more clear signal to be broadcast but at the cost of shorter reception capabilities. In contrast to Amplitude modulations which can be broadcast several hundreds of miles but has less quality and is quite often intterupted by other signals and other objects.

Oh dear, we've got a jokester and a fellow who thinks Morse Code is Morris Code (I wonder if he thinks Morris the cat invented it? ;<)

It's a long subject and Wikiedia covers it very well. So rather than go into a long essay here, I'm going to send you there where you can read at your leisure and my fingers won't get such a workout.
