  1. Try farming.

  2. Gravy gave a pretty good idea for you to look into.  I gave him a thumbs up for it.

There are a lot of good businesses to start up out there.  However, if you have never ran a business, taken classes or anything like that, then I suggest you look into home based business opportunities.  You have the same income opportunity as a traditional business, but without all the over head expenses.  Most everything you use in your home on a daily bases all become tax write off's as well.

A lot of different industries to look into from Child Daycare Centers, Telecommunications, Travel etc etc.  There are literally thousands of different home based business opportunities out there.  Some businesses you can run solely from your home, while others the business is based from your home but you would need to step out from time to time.

  3. People in rural communities can be pretty far-flung even from each other, so cafes and restaurants can operate for generations by giving the neighbours somewhere to meet up and hang out. If you had something a little like a sports bar (or at least had a selection of TVs) then you could host game-day parties, as well as the regular diner menu operation.

  4. To really have success in your own business, you have to do something you are passionate and convicted about.  Rather than searching outside of yourself, seek your answer from within.  What hobbies to you have, are there areas you have an expertise in?  Once you have answered these questions ask yourself a few more...

    1.  Do I know someone that will teach me the ropes and act as a mentor to me?  (If not, find one.)

    2.  What resources do I have to start my own business?  (Money, tools of the trade, time.)

    3.  Am I willing to do whatever it takes for as long as it takes to be successful?

    4.  How much money do I want to earn with my own business?

Being in a rural community does not limit your choices with the abundance of ways to reach customers these days.

Finally, if you have a particular product you are passionate about, consider researching whether or not the company has an affiliate sales program.  Many mainstream companies are adopting network marketing and affiliate marketing as an ideal way to increase their sales and improve consumer loyalty.

Hope you find what you are looking for.

  5. Look around you.

What do you think you/your neighbours will need?

    What are you good at?

A service based business would probably make the best money for you.

Take a look at the Free Books section on the site below.  No. 6 might well give you some ideas.

    Best of luck
