  1. just keep practising makes perfect

  2. basically, you want to work on all your techniques.. your break, your angles, your leaves (the shots you leave open for your opponent), your sets (sets are all about speed and position, and set you up for your next shot), and your control and aim.

the easiest way to get better at all these is practice.. for snooker .. more practice. this is because real snooker on a snooker table is hard.. the table is bigger and there are more balls on the table then say eight or nine ball.  but snooker tables arent readily accessible.. most people just use the regular 8 ball rack (of 15 balls) and play through from 1-15. (is that what you do?).. if so use them

you want to start by trying to see if you can break and run.. break and see if you can run out the table in order.. keep trying.. see how many shots you miss.. how many till you sink the object ball. and keep track.

have someone watch you break to see if you actually hit your object balls, or record it with a videocamera.

with angles you wanna see what works and what doesnt. watch your speed. try banking in easy shots.. and test out your theories on what banks will work and what wont. keep in mind how speed and cutting effect your banks..

there are a few easy set ups to watch your control.  first arrange the balls in an L shape, leading from a side pocket to the closest rail's middle. place the cue ball inside and try to sink each ball while keeping the cue ball inside the square.. another is to line up all the balls in one line across the table from one side pocket to the other.. try to sink the balls on the opposite side of wherever you put the cue ball and dont let the cue ball run into the other side.

it helps a lot to to work on specific shots that always trouble you.. just keep working on it.. they will usually come up.. work on safeties.. and the best practice of all is..

play someone you know that is better than you.. for the most part they'll teach you stuff or show you things that you would never think of or ever think possible.. at the same time they'll fire you up and get that competetive spirit up and kicked into high gear.. practice and have fun and practice somemore.
