Ok I'm looking for some good creatures or monster or even certain ghost that appear a lot and are known. DO NOT NAME THE LOCKNESS MONSTER, BIGFOOT, THE ABOMINABLE SNOWMAN OR THE GOATMAN!! I'm looking for some good myths that people say are true and others disbelieve in it. A good example would be the "Duendes" or the "Chupacarba"

  3. In ancient Greece there was a legend about a creature called the Chimera - it was supposed to be a creature which was composed of parts from different animals, like the head of a snake and the body of a bull, things like that.  The earliest reference to it comes from Homer's 'Iliad' where it's described as "a thing of immortal make, not human, lion-fronted and snake behind, a goat in the middle and snorting out the breath of the terrible flame of bright fire".

  4. The Storsjoodjuret (Sweden's most famous monster).  It's name is translated as the "Great Monster of Storsjon" or "The Great Lake Monster."

Storsjoodjuret was recently captured on film -- check it out.....

  10. 'Fear Liath Mor'

Grey in colour, big, and fearsome in appearance. The legends tell of these beings stalking anyone who trespassed into their territory. Actual sightings of the Big Grey Man have been rare, but "eye-witness" descriptions of his appearance describe him as being around ten feet tall, covered in hair, with very long arms and legs.

Ben MacDhui's sinister occupant first came to widespread notice when eminent climber Professor Norman Collie made an announcement to the members of the Annual General Meeting of the Cairngorm Club during their 1925 gathering. He reported that in 1891 he had been descending from this mountain's summit through heavy mist when suddenly: "I began to hear the sound of noises in the loose rock behind me coming down from the natural cairn on the high plateau. Every few steps I took, I heard a crunch, and then another crunch as if someone was walking after me but taking steps three or four times the length of my own."

  11. Shadow People, because they are one of the least down about/understood possible 'ghostly' figures.

  12. The Wendigo.  Supposedly a creature of Native North American origin that cannabalizes humans.  Some stories describe it as a tall, white thing with huge grasping hands and burning eyes and other stories say that the wendigo is an old woman filled with revenge.

Yeenaaldlooshii is a Navajo legend.  Something to do with shapeshifting, I believe.

Several tales of lake monsters all throughout North America.  Lake Champlain, Ogopogo, Manipogo, etc.

  13. Atmospheric beasts, while we know of life on earth and animals in the sea. What if the stratosphere, the air we breathe is another habitat as well.

These semi solid, transparent critters range from sizes of pins [Air rods] to blimps, grazing on bacteria and other organic materials that float into their homes. On special days, a fortunate one might meet a wasp as a rare treat.

When they decease, they descend to the earth as pwdre sêr the meteorite gel.
