  1. Insurance fraud or false insurance claims are insurance claims filed with the intent to defraud an insurance provider.

    The types of insurance fraud that exist are as diverse as the types of insurance policies that are available. Some of the major areas in which insurance fraud occurs are in the health care, automobile, and property insurance industries.


  2. There are LOTS of different types.  What it means, is putting in a claim for something that didn't happen, or exaggerating a claim that did happen, or misrepresenting something about how the claim happened, or staging a claim.  

    Pretty simple.  It's a lie, and a theft.
