Can you give some insight on this one? How or Why can I do this while sleeping?

Sometimes while I'm sleeping and I am having a Dream that I am enjoying very much, so much that I don't want to wake up. I am able to keep myself in the Dream and the Dream will continue. If I do wake up I am able to put myself back to sleep and continue the Dream just about where it left off when I woke up. I'll also wake up 4 or 5 times during the same Dream and be able to continue on with the Dream from where I left off after I put myself back to sleep. Do other people do this or is this strange?

  1. when its a really good dream for me or a really scary spooky one that i want to get it out of the way before it comes back I can do that. I can wake up and then not even remember then dream but get back to it like if i take a nap that same day. I like it its really cool in away i don't have a lot of friends that can do it so it kinda cool

  2. Definetly strange, but extraordinary nonetheless...

You could say i envy you, i don't dream at all since a i was ten...lol

  3. Yes, it's pretty common to be able to go back to a dream if you want to.  I do it all the time.

  4. Not everyone can do this.  Some can achieve it with practice.  It is called "lucid dreaming."  It's like that same part of the brain, when in a scary dream, and "you" keep wanting to wake up.  That's the conscious mind communicating with the sub-conscious mind.

I can do it.  Used to frequently.  Tried something a couple times and totallyamazed myself.  I fully believe in alternate worlds, or dream worlds, because of this.  I was involved in a dream and knew I was in a hotel room, by myself.  That lucid part of me -- "said" -- Hey, why don't you go look in the mirror?

Two different dream situations, years apart, and WOW!  It wasn't the "me" I see when I look in the miror in real life!  In fact, both times it happened, I was someone different.

It's strange and wonderful to be able to continue a dream.  Try taking certain actions, encourage yourself to do something in the dreams, not just let things happen.  And hey, if you ever look in a mirror, let me know what you see!

    Good luck!

  5. recall is one of the most important part of lucid dreaming, and dreaming in general. Without having any dream recall, you can't really have any lucid dreams. The thing with dreaming is, it is a lot harder to remember things from dreams than to remember things from reality. That's why there are lots of methods and ways to increase your dream recall

Dream reentry is another one,These awakenings are not very suitable for this technique

    -Nightmare awakening

    -Ending of a s*x dream

    -False awakening

  6. i have been known to do that too...weird

  7. I have been able to do that for my entire life. You are very conscious and you will find that as you age, your consciousness will expand and soon you will find that you are "awake" inside while witnessing yourself sleeping.

That is one symptom or earmark of spiritual enlightenment.
