  1. I'm sure the answer is NO

I clearly remember in New Zealand vs England this winter in one of the test matches, Sidebottom trapped Oram plum infront but failed to appeal, then Ian Botham in the com box said "If Sidebottom appealed there i'm sure the umpire would have raised his finger"

  2. TAKE A L@@K >>at this clip i think it will clear every thing up for you

  3. for obvious things like a clean bowled, or straight forward catches, the umpire will give it out.

for lbw decisions, thin edges, and catches caught close to the ground, the fielding team needs to appeal.

  4. No, not even for clean bowled or a pop fly to mid on, the question to the umpire still has to be asked.

  5. i don't think so! the players have to appeal!

  6. Yes, I found out the answer,

    A player is out only

    (1) if the umpire raises his finger or

    (2) the batsman decides to walk,

and neither umpire shall give a batsman out, even though he may be out under the Laws, unless appealed to by the fielding side.

  7. Well yeah your the umpire and if you feel it is out you have to give it

  8. Of course, that's what the umpire is there for, but I can't ever see a team not appealing for an obvious LBW
