  1. That's mostly photoshop.  You can take a helicopter ride and land on the glaciers for a walk, but I don't think that tour stays out there for an hour or two so you can soak up some sun.  In addition, its cold anywhere near and on the glaciers and I mean like hat, coat and gloves cold.  I don't think you would want to strip down to swim wear and if you did it would not be for very long. Remember, you would be standing on a giant icecube.

Now that said, you can get sun and a tan on an Alaska cruise while on the cruise ship.  Most ships have what many call a solarium which is a covered (with glass) pool and hot tub area.  Normally when the ship is moving the top of the solarium is closed.  But even then the suns rays do come through.  And if/when the temperatures get really nice they will open the top.  In addition,  you may be able to find a spot on one of the top decks to sun when the ship is in a port stop.  There will be places on the open deck where you will be shielded from the wind.  And remember that the sun will shine in Alaska during the summer from about 6:00AM until about midnight.

  2. You can get a blistering sunburn on a glacier if you don't wear proper protection or SPF.  We lived in Alaska for a number of years before sailing up there years later.  Our trip was in June, during the time of the midnight sun.  Yes, we came home with tans.
