So after having a long discussion with my friend who lives in DC while I reside in the real capital New York City...we decided to throw the question (it is a 2 parter) up here for the general public to decide...1) If you go into a restaurant and order let's say a burger and you have the choice of either fries or onion rings, is it wrong to order half fries and half onion rings? Keep in mind the price is the the same if you order the fries or onion rings...2) Would you, he or she who is answering, go into a restaurant and feel comfortable splitting your side order like this?

  1. I've never done this or even thought to. Don't you get flack from the waitress? I'm going to try it.

  2. No nothing wrong with that.  My friend & I do it all the time.

We order 2 side orders and an extra plate so that the larger orders arn't spilling onto the table.

If only one of us wanted 1/2 order of each, I wouldn't order that. If it was myself I would order the two sides and leave what I didn't care to eat.

Portions are very large now even side orders and there really isn't any point wasting when you can share.

  3. I do that sh** all the time man.  There's ABSOLUTELY nothign wrong with it and why...

    1) Someone's gonna eat it anyway if you don't order it.

    2) If it doesn't get eaten, it's just gonna get tossed in the trash.

So, don't feel bad.  Eat up; enjoy!

  4. i would not order it half and half because i am a server and know what a pain in the *** it is to type all that c**p in on the computer when i put orders in. if someone asked for that where i work i would just say we dont do that. i never have had anyone ask for it though.

  5. there is 1 word especially made for this situacion!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...
