Can you go into a place like David's Bridal and simply buy shoes?

Do places like that have shoes, and if so, what is the selection like? I have a short simple dress that is kind of 50s style. I need the right shoes because you can see my legs/feet! I'm having a little trouble since my dress isn't white, it's some sort of off white/cream color.

  1. Yes, they have a shoes section towards the back. You can also have them dyed to any color.

  2. Bridal stores will not have the kind of shoes you are describing. Try Zappo's Vintage Shoes collection or this website:

Or Google Vintage Shoes. I hope you find something. I wear a lot of 50's-style dresses and it can be really hard to find stuff.

    Good luck!!!

    :)

  3. Most bridal shops sell shoes seperately. If you want to see what kind of shoes they offer, this is the link to their shoe collection:

  4. Yes, you can buy shoes there.  They don't have a huge selection but they have some.  You should look into getting a metallic color.  You can buy those anywhere and they are a great accent.

That won't be too many, metallic blends with anything, especially if you have gold jewelry.

  5. Where I got my dress has shoes. I'm not sure how they work it (do they only care 2 sizes in each style and then order the right size in like dresses?), but all you have to do is ask.

  6. You can get the shoes and then have them sprayed in a more offwhite color with a gold shoe clip/brooch on them.

Gotta tell you something though... not sure if it'd go with your attire but i saw a wedding video with the girl wearing blue and pink shoes and incorporated the colors in a very light and classy way into her bouquet... it looked gorgeous and there was her something blue :)

    All the best.

  7. Yes, you can just buy shoes, but the couple of times I’ve looked there, I was underwhelmed.

If there’s a DSW (Discount Shoe Warehouse) near you, that’s the place to go for shoes!

  8. Any bridal shop will sell stuff individually.  Don't know about their shoe selection, but my friend just bought the veil from them and that was it.

  9. David's shoe collection is pretty good. Here is a link to some cute retro style shoes.

Edit: try stores like DSW. Here are some links to some HOTT shoes.

  10. The David's by me has shoes, but the selection isn't huge and they're all white dyables.  Did you try payless, JC Penney, Macy's?

  11. They do sell shoes but they don't have a huge selection of styles.  They do have a few on their website.  They even have flip flops.  You can have many shoes died to match whatever you want. Having a third color could add a funky style, however i might add a metallic ribbon to my bouquet or something just to tie it in.
