if i were to move to new york city, with the determination and this communications degree could i have success

  1. Maybe, but only if you have related work experience such as internships, working in your field on campus, and doing as much related work as you can while still in school. Otherwise, not a chance.

    And in general, it's often better to major in exactly what you plan to do. So if you'd planned to be a journalist, you'd major in that rather than in communications. But so long as you have the right experiences, and you do have some coursework in the area you plan to pursue, you could do fine out of a comm degree.
