I'm 17 and currently a year behind in school, I've been working on correspondence classes for the past 6 months. Is it possible to get an actual high school diploma through correspondence? How do you get all the credits you need to graduate?

  1. yeah, its a GED i think. people do it all the time

  2. It is absolutely possible! Keep plugging away at. A diploma is way better than a GED no matter what all the GED holders say. An employer will look at a High School Diploma a lot better than a GED.

  3. Are your correspondance classes through a certain program?  If so, then they should issue your diploma.

If you're just taking individual courses as a HS'er, then your parents will issue you a diploma.  You will just need to make sure you take all the required courses your state requires - so you will have it easier for college admissions.

If you want to get into college, you just need your ACT/SAT scores, a transcript of your high school work, and a portfolio of your work.  You could also start taking community college classes now for dual (high school & college) credit.
