  1. coffee grinder is best

  2. I use several mills.  I also have a coffee grinder I use for fresher/softer spices.

  3. Yes you can , just keep in mind that all the flavor, will stay in the mill, also you may buy a ship coffee grinder to grind your spices.

  4. i do but i  use one that never had pepper corns in it .only  use it fo my spices

  5. Yes you can. I've seen Jamie Oliver suggest it in one of his shows.

Personally, I much prefer using a mortar and pestle!

  6. of course! you can grind anything you want. or food processor would work too.

  7. Yes you can but buy separate mills so you don't mix your pepper with your other spices.

  8. Yes. You can buy a special grinder, although I use a cheap coffee bean grinder. A pepper mill is the same thing, only hand-operated. Clean the mill with tissue paper or a pastry brush if using for two or more different types of spice

  9. If you are a serious cook, buy several hand-cranked spice mills. Otherwise, everything you season with pepper will taste of spices.

  10. Yes,  but buy a seperate mill for your spices.  I keep three, salt, pepper, & whatever else I grind.

  11. You can, but keep in mind that the flavors will get mixed if you grind pepper in a mill and then try to grind, say, allspice. This will happen even if you wash them--those flavors are powerful. If you grind a lot of spices, just buy a cheap pepper mill for every spice you regularly use; your spices will taste fresher and you won't get the flavors mixed up.
