Can you guys give some good study tips?

i have a psychology final on monday and it's on 4 chapters its my first college experiencing and the past 3 test scores r not wat i expected. i study by just reading and memorizing the definitions of key words. ANY OTHER TIPS???????????

take notes on your readings, use highlighters, and make flashcards for the definitions. sometimes it helps to get someone else to help you, such as quizzing you with the flashcards. while you study either chew gum or suck on a hard candy like jolly ranchers for a steady stream of sugar. if you like listening to music while you work, try marching band music instead - its supposed to keep you motivated or something.

get you a tape recorder with earphones, and every chance you have put them on. record your questions and answers and play them over and over in your head. even when you sleep.. this will help you a lot..

In my freshman year of college I failed my first psych exam and ended up getting an A in the class.  If you have old quizzes or exams from this class look at where the professor gets most of the questions from.  Are most of the questions in the notes?  In the book?  

Many professors favor what they give in the notes.  Go through them and look at headings or things that were repeated.  Usually these are the most important.  

Try to look at all the info from the class and guess what you would make test questions.  I make my students do this for my high school class and they almost always hit on all the questions I am going to ask.
