  1. tim lincecum is an amazing one of a kind athelete...his mechanics are crazy..really, if you tried it, i wouldnt doubt you having a devastating injury..probably to your arm...work on normal mechanics

  2. Whoa, tough question. I'll try my best to telll you how to pitch well.

First thing you need is a fast ball. Tim throws a two seam, so if you want to be like him you need to learn it. A two seam is a pitch that moves pretty much like a sinker, only it is faster. A two seam is usually slower than a four seam, although Tim has been able to throw it in the high 90's.

Tim also throws a very nice twelve to six curve. The twelve to six" refers to the number positions on a clock. To throw a pitch like this, you need to throw over hand. A curve will hurt your arm if you are not over sixteen, so if you aren't then do not try this pitch.

The most important pitch in my mind is the change up, and Timmy throws a filthy one. The change looks like a fast ball and is thrown with the same arm speed, but it is held deep in the palm which makes it ten miles per hour slower (of course give or take a few mph).

Learn your mechanics well. Tim has had the same rotation and mechanics since high school. No matter what, bad mechanics means bad pitching. Throw with your legs as well as your arm. When you do that the ball will travel faster.

Do not try to throw hard. Velocity is a gift and if you don't naturally throw very hard then it is just not meant to be. Location and the changing of velocity is the way to pitch, not simply throwing hard. Look at Glavine and Maddux. They are future hall of famers who throw in the mid 80's with great movement and command.

Have fun. Pitching is very hard and will take some time to get comfortable with. Practice hard and do not get discouraged. If you try, you can succeed.

Good luck! I hope this has helped you a little bit.

  3. No.

Tim Lincecum is the only one who truly knows how to pitch that way, and your just gonna mess up your body if you try it.

  4. first of all your stride has to be 120% of your height, which is unheard of.

most guys who would try throwing like lincecum would get injured pretty quickly, and pretty badly. hes what i like to call a rare "specimen."

go out in your backyard and try to find your own unique motion that allows you to pump it while having a legit off speed pitch. or if you really want to pitch like him, find videos of him on the internet and copy exactly what he does. itll probably take quite a bit of time to get it down though

i actually tried throwing like him for a short time on my high school team, and although i threw harder and had a dirty curve my elbow started to hurt and i had no control, so i gave up. but i hope it works out better for you if you decide to pursue it

  5. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dsmdsV9Qn...

this is a link where it shows how he pitches.

Is in slow motion. you can see his mechanics of throwing.

i bet your not a bad pitcher. work on your own stuff.

  6. be very good

  7. sure, pick up a baseball and throw it overhand, like tim does it. Course, throwing it as fast as he does, or with his accuracy, you're gonna have to learn that on your own...

  8. Yes actually I can. Email me at theprospect09@gmail.com or visit the link below under sources. I have compiled a great deal of information on Tim Lincecum and his windup. If you want to know more all you have to do is ask. This information is tested and being used to help others create their own style successfully.

Hope to hear from you soon.
