I've been sort of depressed after school and stuff, yesterday and today.... I've thought about me having SAD before, but I absolutely hate rain and humidity.... What do you think.... btw, it's been constantly raining for the past few days

  1. Find something that you love to do on rainy days that will take your depression away, but yea i can see how constant rain can get you down!

  2. rainy days and mondays always bring me down !!

  3. Yes you can.  When it rains all the times you don't get the sunlight.  I live in FL and am depressed every summer because of the heat and rain. (our summers are over 6 months long)

  4. weather affects everyone!

  5. Of course u can. for me i also fell sad, down and depressed when it rains. to me it's just like someone is crying "way up there",  so it's like seeing someone else crying right in front of you. when it's sunny you just feel better, like someone is happy and their face is "shining".

  6. I used to live in the tropics and yes, high humidity and a lot of rain is realllllllllly draining on you, especially since you have to have all the windows closed.  I don't think it's actually SAD.  The humidity just takes a lot out of your body to keep cool and functioning - drink loads of water.  I now live in a colder, low humidity climate and feel generally more bouyant all the time.  You'll probably feel better when the rain's gone.

  7. I guess.

Rain really makes me bored. We got 5.60 in Central NC. 2 days of solid rain.

  8. Sure, weather can definitely affect mood, it does to me. After a lifetime in the middle east with almost non-stop sunshine I moved to England and wow I could hardly get out of bed in the morning it was so d**n grim. You can get a special light designed for SAD which is like sunshine and you put it on for a few minutes in the morning and its supposed to bring your mood up, you should definitely look into it!

Well it could possibly be SAD because SAD is a mood disorder associated with depressive episodes and is related to seasonal variations in light. So variations in light means winter time, or seasons with clouds and rain, like what you were describing.
