  1. yes certanliy you just have to find the right church like christian......ECT.

  2. In theory, yes. But it is not quite that simple, because the act of bringing a child into the Christian fellowship is more than merely attending a Christian service and having its head splashed with water.

To start with, "christened" is an Anglican or Roman term. There are not many Anglican churches in Scotland; the nearest equivalent is the Scottish Episcopal Church. The Church of Rome has churches throughout Scotland.

Scotland is a Presbyterian nation and the act of introducing a child into God's family is called "baptism". The law of the Church of Scotland regarding "infant baptism" requires that at least one of the parents is baptisted into the Christian faith and that the infant will be brought up within the nuture and superintendence of a Congregation. A Presbyterian Minister, and his/her Kirk Session, would need to be assured that these conditions were being met before allowing a baptism to proceed. I am aware of numerous cases of families (living in Scotland) who could not satisfy these conditions and have been denied, quite rightly, an infant baptism. An individual who was not baptised as an infant can always opt for adult baptism, as many do each year. A baptism need not be undertaken as part of public worship. The Kirk Session can agree to a request for a private baptism. (Note that this decision is not the Minister's, but his/her Kirk Session)
