Can you have a higher pay raise being a cop with a bachelors or a doctriate degree?

  1. A college degree would serve you as you advanced through the ranks of a police department.

    A four-year degree (which sometimes takes longer) is a bachelor's degree. After that, another or two of study results in a master's degree or "graduate degree." After that, more advanced study plus a dissertation will get you a PhD or a doctoral degree.

    There is no reason for a police office to have a doctorate. At that point, the officer would have moved on to another line of work (law, teaching at the college level, consulting, etc.)


  2. i think all cops in the same district or city or town start at the same salary, but it would probably benefit down the line for promotions and what not.
