  1. By electric do you mean the ones that aren't fireplaces...rather just a moving picture? Or a GAS fireplace? If it's the fake moving picture...of course you can. If it's a gas fireplace, I wouldn't recommend it. The added heat from it might not be the best thing for the TV.


  2. Take a thermometer and place it where you would place the TV.   If the temperature isn't much over ambient temperature then it might be safe.  However, if the temperature reads in the 90's or above then you would be baking your tv set and it won't last long.
