Can you have a pencil in the oven?

Depending on the temperature it shouldn't catch fire, but it will become chard.  If you put the pencil in water and let it soak a while it will be OK.  That's what do to wood skewers to prevent them from burning while making kabobs.

It will burn if the Temp. goes above ~400F.

As a base for clay, - they make special bisquit

supports for that purpose.

Depends upon the temp and duration of time in the oven. The paint will most definitely smell very strong.
