Can you have a post office addy any where you want to?

I just bought a house in the country and I prefer to have a post office addy in the main city!

is it legal for me to do this? To have 2 differant address?

will it confuse any one can I do this?

I prefer it this way!

As I prefer some people I know not to know where I live! just my personal preferance!

and then when i get important mail I want it to go to the PO box is this legally okay to do?

  1. You can have a post office box at any post office you want. But remember to keep your phone number unlisted, and know that certain companies will require a physical address to be on file with them (mainly banks and finance companies). They will send mail to your PO box, but will insist on having a physical address on file.


  2. You can purchase, or rather..rent a post office box anywhere you want. It doesn't even have to be at the post office, there are several private companies in larger cities that do the same thing. It isn't free though! You will have to check with your post office for the specific rules and fees. I have several friends and relatives that  move around so often it is just easier for them to have a PO box than change their address all the time.
