Can you have a stud inserted into a new tragus piercing or...?

You can have a labret stud in there, its usually better for healing too.

You can have either. I got mine done as a stud and I love it. If the place you go to doesn't give you a choice you should probably go somewhere else that does.

You can get a stud or barbell, both are better for healing than a ring is. They move around less so the piercing will heal faster (it can still take about a year to heal though)

You can have a stud, straight barbell, ring, circular barbell... anything piercings can have in them, really!

I got mine done with a stud, it's better for healing. But of course you can get it done with a hoop :)
