The HIV/AIDS virus cannot live outside the human body, that is to say it cannot live on tables etc, but it can live in blood from a blood transfusion.  The hospital is very careful to check for AIDS however.  So to answer your question yes, a blood transfusion can give someone AIDS.  However casual contact cannot.

If you've been sharing needles for intravenous drug use, or you have had a blood transfusion in a country where they don't screen their blood, yes, of course.

You don't just get it through s*x.

But it can't appear from thin air. You do actually have to have got it from one of those methods.
