Can you have double coverage through VSP Vision?

No, I mean if covered through my husband, could I sign up @ my work & have twice the coverage?

Probably not... I believe only one coverage would apply.  Look up 'coordination of benefits' on the VSP website. That should help.

If what you mean is that you have VSP through your work and also your husband has VSP at his place of employment and he has you covered on his plan as a family member ---- then YES you can use both plans.  You cannot file a single exam or a single pair of glasses on each plan though.  You would be able to get one examination through one plan and then another examination through the other.  This would require you to pay two separate copays, though.  You could also file one pair of glasses through one plan and then get a separate pair of glasses through the other for a total of two pairs.  You would though have to pay out of pocket on each pair of glasses according to the guidelines of each individual plan.  So, what I am saying is you couldn't combine the benefits on a single exam and glasses.  You could though pay for two separate exams and two separate pairs of glasses.

No you cannot, if you mean add dependants or spouse then you must wait til open enrollment..you  cannot double it up becuase your spouse has it too, you can have either seperate vsp services, or be on a plan together but it will NOT be doubled...i just asked my boss

yes you could have double coverage... Usallay the vsp doctor you go to will call VSP and get auth to use both insurance as one. If you are going to get an expensive pair of glasses then use them togther but if you are going to get contacts and glasses well use one for one and one for the other..... You have to be carefull some plans offer glasses every two year, and if you get contacts it will rest the eyeglasses for another 2 years. But if you get contacts then you could get them every year...

Remeber if someone has VSP but dosn;t wear glasses they could still get a pair of sunglasses to use up their insurance, the only thing is that they have to get a eye exam...
