Sims 2 Ikea Home Stuff is not a game by itself. Its an add- on to The Sims 2. If you don't have The Sims 2 installed, the Ikea add-on does nothing.

So you can have kid sims in The Sims 2 for PC or Mac.

You can't with any of the consoles.

The console games also don't use add ons.

For the PC game, you can add any of the Expansion or Stuff Pack add ons you want. All Ikea stuff does is give you furniture for your sims.

The Sims Ikea home stuff is just an extra ...so  basically no.... you need Sims 2 or Sims 2 deluxe edition.... for having children in it
