I have some symptoms but I don't have a problem staying awake during the day. I do have trouble getting back to sleep at night if I'm awakened. Maybe I'm being paranoid...

  1. Why do you think you have narcolepsy?  Do you experience visual and audio hallucinations shortly after onset of sleep?  Do you lose control of your muscles, fall to the floor, when you laugh?  Do you experience microsleeps?

The test for narcolepsy is to spend a day at a sleep clinic and they have you take several naps.  My Dr. suspected I had it but I never could nap while at the clinic.

Waking up all night long is a symptom of many sleep disorders; apnea, RLS, hormone imbalance, insomnia.  Get it checked out, it might get you a good night's sleep.

    Good luck.

  2. Yes, it is very possible. Narcolepsy is extremely under diagnosed. However, it could be a number of other things also, so see your doctor to be certain.
