Can you have regular dvds upgraded to better quality on a blu ray player even if ur blu ray player is a ps3?

Your PS3 is still a blu-ray player, and ALL blu-ray players will upconvert standard DVDs to near HD quality. Technically, it's not really HD picture...because your ps3 basically "guesses" and fills in pixels to simulate an HD picture. Althought it still will look better, but not as good as Blu-ray Quality.

yes, the ps3 does upscale dvds andold ps2 games

t what resolution, i am not sure, but i imagine it would be at least 720p

this feature in fact came through a firmware update, so hooking one's ps3 up to an internet connection would be wise to get the updates

but if you are looking to buy a ps3 right now, it should have all the latest firmware up and ready to go
