  1. he is only trying to think of something intelligent to say besides well um.

  2. Junior and Tony Eury Jr. have been indoctrinated into a positive outlook management organization.  It affects how they treat each other and they are also carefully coached on what can be said on the air and things to avoid.  This is part of a PR machine that makes the Hendrick brand so valuable.  Particulalry to sponsors.

Sponsors cringe when they look at drivers like Kyle Busch.  He is arrogant, brash, rude and inconsiderate.  What brand will pay to associate these traits with their product?  He devalues himself with his display of maturity.

Meanwhile, if you are looking for it, you will see the refined Dale Jr.  now that he has joined hendrick.

It wont be long before Gibbs comes into play in Kyles behavior.  He wont stand for this for very long.

    Great observation!

  3. Yes, he does have a lot of frustration. But his maturity level comes into play when in an interview.

He knows that he can't tick off the sponsors.

Who remembers the interview he did after his first Cup win?

    It went something like "boywewuzsurehavingfunoutherwhoowheeebot...

Now he speaks more slowly, and thinks of what he wants to say instead of just Busching it. (Did I say that out loud?)

  4. He has a real hard time talking and not sounding like a moron. He is not watching what he says he is just not trying to sound stupid. Which most of the time it doesn't work.

  5. I think part of it is frustration, and part of it is the fact that he is a humble, respectful man.  I know he is gonna win soon, and that will surely help.

    Go Jr.>>>>

  6. Yeah. Poor guy, even if you hate Jr you could feel his frustration and struggle not to say what he likely really was thinking....

  7. Though I fault NO ONE for the Shrub/ Jr. affair, (and BTW I am not an Earnhardt Kool-Aid drinker), you see a real contrast in styles in terms of how Lil E handles himself. Never let it be said that he acts like a jerk. He wants a win, almost had it and it got away.

I think he gets who is and the following he has. If he has one thing on his dad, it's that he's 10 times more popular (no Kool Aid drinker will admit it though) and he understands that what he says has consequences.

In a way, I dig Shrub's style, but by the same token he's learned nothing from what his brother went through.

  8. Almost everybody in NASCAR is like this these days.  Tony Stewart is the big exception, and occasionally other guys will be so worked up they forget, but this is the way NASCAR's going with fining and penalizing drivers for what they say.  Jr. just gets on TV more than anybody else for it to be so obvious.

  9. Junior is not one of the best interviews in the sport.

I've noticed that he seems to have problems with the way he expresses what he wants to say,he seems to have to stop and rethink his comments. Not so much for content but for the correct pronouncing of a word.

  10. Hear it? I can feel it!

  11. What you heard and saw was class -vs- imaturity.

  12. He's beginning to realize himself that he doesn't live up to the hype.

  13. I think he is finally realizing that he sucks pretty hard cause hes in the best equipment in nascar and still cannot win. It finally makes sense to him  that he hasn't won in two years.

  14. i think that Jr just doesn't want to talk to people, he rather race and let someone else tell everyone how the car was... he seems to be a pretty private person if you don't know him,and wouldn't you be frustrated to go 2 years without winning and see a glimmer of hope then something happen, whether it was intentional or not...

  15. Of course he had to watch what he said.  He would have been docked 100 pts and 100,000 dollars if he said what he wanted to say that night.  5 or 6 yrs ago he would have said it and had to pay the penalty.  He's more mature now and he held back during the interviews.  Oh he'll wreck good ol kyle busch someday.  You can guarentee jr won't forget about this one.  He can't come out and say, hey i'm gonna wreck him, but he will a little later in the year when things settle down and little and the timing is right.

  16. Even from bad quality sounds, I hear it as like he spoke to me.

  17. T-bone, I'm ready for those fireworks....Dale Jr is at Hendrick Motorsports a much more professional run organization, its a new Dale Jr, yes you do hear frustration..I think he is trying to watch his words..Remember he and Tony Jr both are going through a learning process, they have never had anything like what they have now at Hms....Its as different as night and day comparing Hms to DEI...

    Go Dale Jr & Hms

  18. Yeah  I hear and see in it his face.  The disappointment.  He stumbles around alot when he talks.  But atleast he isn't a arrogant jerk, like the kids is.

  19. Man.  Did you hear him after Phoenix when Mark put a hurtin on him in his old car?...  I saw the question marks above his head thats how bad it was.  I'm not hating on him but he's really frustrated not having a win under his BVD's yet.   I keep telling my JR friends he'll win at the most unsuspecting track.   Expletives will then fly and this board will light up like Baghdad.  He'll be alright.

  20. Yes I do feel and hear his frustration.  Junior is a class act he is humble & respectful most of the time and he does always have trouble speaking in front of cameras.  No matter what he gives his team and HMS credit for them being in 3rd place.

Junior will win races then you will see a new man speaking for the cameras.

I am waiting for those fireworks myself T-Bone!
