  1. It means to live life to the fullest and make it such a wonderful and exceptional life, that when you die, even that which took your life away will be sorry to end it, being able to recognize its achievements.


  2. Basically what I think it means that you should live your life so well and be so well liked that even the undertaker (who makes his living from people dying) will be sad, despite the fact that he's making money out of your death and should therefore be happy...!

  3. I think this quotation is basically Mark Twain's way of saying that you should live your life to the fullest. Accomplish as much as you can in your lifetime. Live each day like it's your last day on earth and try your best to be kind to others, so that when you finally die everyone will know of your accomplishments. The undertaker will be paid to do his job (i.e. burying you) but despite his profit, he will be saddened by your death.

  4. It's not about trying to live a full life or doing as much as you can in life.  It's about wanting to live so much that when you finally die, the last person to see you on this Earth feels bad because of the tremendous lose.
