Can you help figure out a board game I used to play around the early 90's?

It was a game where there was this tornado like top at the top of a mountain. Every once in a while the top was set off and it would spin down the mountain. If it hit your climber that was trying to get to the top and knocked it over, you would have to start all over. The first climber to the top won, I think. Its all I can remember about the game and I might be a little off. Does anyone know what it was?

  1. The game you're looking for is likely "Tornado Rex."  You can find out more about it here:

    Happy gaming!

  2. that is the tornado board game that was invented by jocelyn bellburnell. It was used to her mother to make her enjoy this game. But suddenly it became popularized by benjamin franklin. But nowadays there are just few of this available in different stars............................

  3. Hm, is there a chance you are getting two games mixed up?

The climbing a mountain part sounds like Oh What A Mountain.  (For details see http://www.boardgamegeek.com/game/5564).  That has the mountain climbing, but no spinning top.

The top part sounds like Tornado Bowl (http://www.boardgamegeek.com/game/15185)... but that doesn't have a mountain.

However, things roll down paths and knocking pieces off sounds an awful lot like Fireball Island (http://www.boardgamegeek.com/game/1768), but there its marbles representing balls of lava, not tornadoes.

If you check the links, there's pictures and descriptions of all of them.  Hope one of those is right!
